Overview
Project execution
"28 May" Floating Dry Dock (FDD), measuring 168 m x 50 m, is capable of lifting and accommodating vessels of maximum 25,000 t displacement.
The maximum vessel breadth it can accommodate is 34 m, with maximum drafts not exceeding 7.0 m. The dock is equipped with two 20 t cranes on the top deck.
The dock is intended to lift ships out of the water and to transfer ships to the transfer area of the shipyard and vice versa. 20 t dock cranes and the 300 t gantry crane with electric drives move along rail tracks, supported by the automatic panel line and trolley transfer system.
The dock is a floating type, single pontoon, two-wing wall, steel structured, non-propelled unit, non-autonomous with regard to power supply and directly connected to shore.
The dock performs the following main functions: lifting ships out of water for repair inside the dock, lifting ships out of water and transferring them to the quay side transfer area of the shipyard, and launching new build vessels.
Technically, the dock is completely new, with an expected lifetime of around 50 years.

Timeline
Milestone control
Each stage is organized around production readiness, quality records, and yard coordination.
Stage 01
Design and construction
The floating dock was built as a major yard capability for shipbuilding, repair, transfer and launching activities.
Stage 02
Docking and transfer integration
Dock cranes, rail tracks, gantry crane interface and the trolley transfer system were aligned for integrated yard operations.
Stage 03
Operational readiness
The dock entered service to support repair docking, transfer to the yard repair area, and launching of new build vessels.
